Description: The city of Kanazawa keeps old Japanese buildings and this district used to be an entertainment district. Rich people came to stores where Geishas entertained them. In order to become a first-rate geisha, you have to spend a several years, learning how to play music instruments, to dance and to serve food in a proper way. As you can see from the photo, all the houses are connected in this area.

Spanish: Mariano Matamoros

 

 

Description: A 1971 Mexican postage stamp honors the second centenary of the birth of Mariano Matamoros, one of the earlier contributors to the demand for independence from Spain. The stamp appears and is accompanied by a short reading. The painting of Marian Matamoros is by Diego Rivera and may have been excerpted from one of his murals in the Palace of Fine Arts (Palacio de Bellas Artes) in Mexico City.
